Dr Richard Langford qualified as a consultant Radiologist in South Africa in 1988. He worked in the private sector for several years before returning to the public sector to be Director of Radiology at Nambour General Hospital in Queensland Australia. After 5 years in that post he opened his own private practice nearby which, based upon his reputation as an outstanding Radiologist, has thrived X-Ray & Imaging. With over 20 years of international consulting experience in x-ray, ultrasound, CT & MRI reporting, Dr Langford heads up the team of X-Ray & Imaging Radiologists. He has a reputation as an approachable Radiologist who provides the highest standards in diagnostic Radiology reporting. A former Breast screen Radiologist, Dr Langford’s special interest lies in Mammography and breast imaging.
Dr Tevita Taka grew up between New Zealand & Fiji before doing his medical training at Otago Medical School. Tevita completed his RANZCR fellowship at Dunedin Hospital in 2010. In 2011 Tevita made the move to Australia settling on the Sunshine Coast where he lives with his wife and four young children. His special interests include MSK MRI imaging and MSK interventional procedures. Tevita works at Cooroy on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays and spends Tuesdays & Thursdays at Coolum. He is looking forward to establishing himself within the medical communities of both these towns.
Originally qualified as Consultant Radiologist in South Africa in 1990, Rastie relocated to Australia with his wife and two sons in 2004. After 8 years in Busselton, WA the van der Westhuizen family relocated to SW Queensland and began working for X-Ray & Imaging in 2012. Working mainly out of our Kawana & Caloundra practice Rastie’s main areas of interest are interventional radiology including a full range of CT & ultrasound guided injections. Away from work he enjoys all running, triathlon and traveling with his family.
Originally qualified as a veterinary surgeon with registration in South Africa and the UK, Dr Anton Le Roux became a Radiologist in South Africa in 1997. Since 2003 he has been registered as a Radiologist in the UK. He had prior registration as a GP in the UK since 1992. He qualified as a consultant radiologist in Australia in 2003 where he provides teleradiology reporting of x-ray, BMD, mammography, ultrasound, CT and MRI imaging from rural and metropolitan providers interstate. With over 20 years of radiology consulting experience, Dr Le Roux has a reputation for being an excellent detailed Radiologist with a special interest in MSK, intervention, abdominal and Woman`s imaging.
Dr Russell (Gus) Ferguson qualified in medicine at the University of Otago in 1963. Post grad studies began soon after with a doctorate at Otago University in 1968 and FRANZCR in 1971. He won the McKenzie research scholarship which took him to the university College hospital in London to study under the well known kidney researcher, Dr John Hodson. While in London he studied for and achieved the Royal College Fellowship FRCR in 1973.
His interest in pain management procedure began shortly after, he was instrumental in developing the technology use of CT guided radiofrequency in the spine. Gus has now been performing RF procedures for over 25 years.
In his free time Gus enjoys playing the piano.
Dr Sally Johnstone completed her medical degree at The University of Queensland. She performed her specialised Radiology training at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She later completed her fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The Princess Alexandra Hospital. We were and still are thrilled that Sally joined our X-Ray & Imaging family in 2018. She brings compassion and a genuine care for her patients.
Her main interest lies in image guided pain interventions.
When Sally is not working you will find her enjoying her young family, most likely at the beach.
Dr Sarah Constantine completed her radiology training in South Australia at the end of 2004. She completed a Fellowship in Perinatal imaging at the Womens and Children’s Hospital in 2005. Now in her 14th year as a perinatal imaging specialist at Womens and Children’s Hospital (obstetric ultrasound, pelvic Ultrasound, MRI and neonatal imaging).
In addition to the above she holds and performs the following roles:RANZCR College examiner in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Has been reporting on craniomaxillofacial imaging for over 10 years. A Radiologist for the SA Dental Service, Oral Health Services Tasmania and the Royal Dental Hospital in Melbourne, as well as numerous private practices.
Dr Shane Diers qualified in medicine in 1998 at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg,South Africa. He went on to specialise in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology achieving both FCRad Diag(SA) and FRANZCR.He has spent 10 years in private practice in Johannesburg and 4 years working as a consultant radiologist at a large regional hospital in Whangarei, New Zealand. He has special interests in emergency/trauma imaging as well as diagnostic / interventional musculoskeletal imaging. He relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 2019 with his wife and two young children.
As Business Manager, Jim works with the outlying practices to ensure good outcomes for referring sites and their patients. He is the person to speak to in the initial stages of getting started or if you have any questions or ideas regarding the service in general. He initially began work for X-Ray & Imaging doing promotional work whilst traveling from England. Thanks to a sponsorship from X-Ray & Imaging, Jim relocated permanently to the Sunshine Coast in 2006 where he has been at X-Ray & Imaging ever since.
Jason graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science – Medical Imaging at QUT in 2000. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound from University of South Australia from 2006. He previously worked in regional and remote QLD for Queensland Health before training in Ultrasound in Western Australia with the largest imaging company in Western Australia. He was a locum in the UK for several years before settling back in QLD to raise his family. He is married to Kirstyn and they have two young boys. Jason manages our ultrasound department with a keen interest in all areas of ultrasound.
Megan graduated from Uni in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) from Central Queensland University. Her relationship with X-Ray & Imaging started out one day per week bookkeeping in 2005, through to part time bookkeeper in 2007, to full time HR Manager and Finance Control in 2009. Her special interests include organisational development, employee retention and employee wellbeing through the continual nurturing of workplace culture. Megan lives in Kawana with her husband and son.
Shaun has been with X-Ray & Imaging since its inception in 2004. Shaun is also a Radiographer with over 25 years experience in both the Private and Public sector, within Australia and overseas. His role encompasses the daily operations of the company right through to the set-up of our new sites. Outside of work, Shaun's interests are his family, the beach and surf lifesaving.
Harlee has worked in Medical Imaging Administration since 2001. She started her career as a Junior Administration Officer and has held various roles sine such as Accounts, Marketing, General Administration, Supervising and Practice Management. She has had extensive experience in both the Public and Private sectors, has spent time overseas and prides herself on putting patients first. Harlee has a young family and recently relocated to the Sunshine Coast to enjoy the relaxed coastal lifestyle, spending time outdoors, going to the beach and eating out.
Sarah qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002 after training as an Auditor with a large global accounting firm in the UK. She moved over to Australia for work shortly after that and has since spent many years as a Financial Controller / Finance Manager within a variety of sectors including Advertising, I.T., Health and Education. After completing a contract with Queensland Health as a part of the SCUH project management team, Sarah developed an interest in the health sector and joined X-ray & Imaging in November 2017 as our Finance Manager. Sarah loves life on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, eating out, running, walking along the beach and spending time with her Husband and 3 children.
Rebecca has over 21 years experience in Radiography both here in Australia and abroad. Since returning to Australia in 2003 Rebecca has specialised in providing the highest quality CT examination for her patients. After having her children she returned to work in 2010 to coordinate the pain clinic alongside Dr Gus Ferguson and more recently Dr Sally Johnstone and together they continue to provide care and pain management to patients of the Sunshine Coast.When not a work Rebecca can be found running the coastal pathways of our beautiful location or enjoying the great outdoors with her family.
Denise has over 30 years of acute nursing experience in both the international and the national locales. She initially Studied her Enrolled Nursing Certificate at Princess Alexandra Hospital before later completing her Bachelor of Science-Nursing at Griffith University in 1997.
Denise is instrumental in her role of assisting and supporting both her patients and the Doctors alike.
Denise provides our patients with old school type care, she certainly doesn’t shy away from holding the patients hand when they require a little assurance. She has a genuine interest in assisting our patients with their pain, she is always going above and beyond and searching out results for them.
Dr Kevin Lee is an Australian trained Specialist Physician in Endocrinology/Diabetes and Nuclear Medicine.
Dr Lee underwent undergraduate medical training in Sydney, completing post-graduate training throughout Queensland. He has a Masters of Health Studies in Clinical Epidemiology and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is an associate senior clinical lecturer with University of Queensland and a registrar supervisor with the College.
He is an advocate for patient-centric care. He has special interest in osteoporosis, cardiometabolic disorders, obesity, thyroid and lipidology. He has given talks internationally and nationally in topics of endocrinology and molecular imaging.
Peter has extensive experience in nuclear medicine in both the public and private sectors. He was instrumental in establishing and operating nuclear medicine services on the Sunshine Coast and the Wide Bay region over the last 25 years. Prior to moving to Queensland he was the Chief Technologist at the Royal Prince Alfred and John Hunter Hospitals in NSW and lectured in nuclear medicine technology at the University of Newcastle. Peter enjoys playing golf and tennis in his spare time.
